Archival scanning solutions are typified by the ranks of filing cabinets found in many organisations where the office is over-run storing paper documents essential for commercial / legislative / compliance reasons. Often described as Closed File systems, these products allow you to set up a scanning regime that takes the paperwork out of the system at a practical point in the workflow thereby removing the requirement to store old paper files. Image-based archives are the cheapest & most common solution used by businesses and pay back their initial investment very quickly.

Knowledge Management products (or e-Discovery tools) represent one of the most powerful business applications available today. Their particular strength is the ability to allow users to trawl for unstructured data which can be in the form of electronic documents (eg. MS Word, Excel, Email) or as scanned (OCR’d) paper documents.

Image capture tools provide a variety of approaches that allow for scanned images to be routed to a wide range of different back office systems. These may include email products such as Exchange or Lotus Notes, as well as Electronic Document Management products such as Documentum, SharePoint, Autonomy, OpenText .

Within the legal / financial services marketplace, Scanning Technologies Ltd also directly support several bespoke 3rd party database solutions. For example, Lawyers using LawWare, Pilgrim Systems' LawSoft and the VisualFiles (SolCase) products can now scan directly to the PMS using our own ImageBrowser SCANNING software or rapidly input pre-existing images generated by Digital Copiers / MFD's.
